Built Around Roll-Off Sizing and Weight Limits
Roll-off pricing lives and dies on tonnage. SiteRento models each container size with its own included weight allowance and overage rate, so quotes and invoices reflect what the scale actually said.
| Container | Typical use | Tracked per container |
|---|---|---|
| 10 yard | Concrete, dirt, heavy debris on tight driveways | Included tonnage, overage rate, per-day rental |
| 20 yard | Roofing tear-offs and mid-size renovation debris | Included tonnage, overage rate, swap history |
| 30 yard | New construction and whole-home cleanouts | Included tonnage, overage rate, days on site |
| 40 yard | Commercial demolition and high-volume light debris | Included tonnage, overage rate, utilization |
Weight ticket capture
Drivers attach the scale ticket at the landfill from the mobile app. Net weight posts against the job before the truck is back in the yard.
Automatic overage math
Net weight over the included allowance bills at the per-ton rate on the contract — no one re-deriving overage by hand at month end.
Swap-out as one job
A swap is a pull and a delivery on one stop. SiteRento keeps both legs on a single work order so the haul is billed once, correctly.
Dumpster Rental Software FAQ
- How does the software handle tonnage overage charges?
- Each container size carries its own included weight allowance and per-ton overage rate. Drivers attach the landfill scale ticket from the mobile app, SiteRento compares net weight to the allowance on the contract, and any overage is added to the invoice automatically — so overage stops depending on someone remembering to check tickets at month end.
- Can it bill a swap-out as a single haul instead of two jobs?
- Yes. A swap is modeled as one stop containing both a pull and a delivery, kept on a single work order. That prevents the common double-billing error where the empty drop and the full pull get invoiced as two separate hauls, and it keeps utilization figures accurate for the container that actually moved.
- Does it track which container is on which job site?
- Every container is tracked individually with its current site assignment and days on site. Because roll-off inventory is a fixed asset that generates revenue only while deployed, the same view doubles as your utilization report and flags containers that have been sitting on a completed job longer than the contract covers.
- How are disposal costs passed through to the customer?
- Disposal is captured per haul from the weight ticket, so the actual landfill or transfer-station cost is attached to the job rather than absorbed into overhead. You can pass it through at cost, at a markup, or leave it inside a flat rate — the margin on each haul stays visible either way.
- Does it handle permits for containers placed on the street?
- Street and right-of-way placements can be flagged on the job with the permit number and expiration date, and the container stays associated with that permit while deployed. This matters because municipal right-of-way permits typically expire on a fixed date regardless of whether the job has finished.
